Do I Need a Family Assistant or Personal Assistant? Understanding the Difference

Families often begin with a simple statement: “I need help.” A family assistant typically supports family and household logistics such as errands, groceries, school schedules, children’s transportation, organization and household tasks. A personal assistant generally focuses more directly on the principal’s personal and administrative needs.

Hybrid roles can work, but hybrid does not mean unlimited. One person cannot realistically provide full-time childcare, manage an executive calendar, clean the entire home, cook every meal and oversee an estate at the same time.
